Feeling peckish?

When hunger strikes, you may find yourself reaching for a high-sugar snack, such as chocolate or a candy bar.

However, these options aren’t the healthiest way to go, especially if you’re trying to lose weight.

“Eat mostly vegetables and plants which are high in fibre and nutrients but low in calories. Salad leaves, kale, cabbage, cucumbers and sweet peppers all work well,” suggests Damo.

“Ideally, you want to satiate those hunger pangs with wholesome, nutritious food to maintain a balanced diet. Avoid sugar and processed snacks, read food labels and ingredient lists.”
