“Muscle tissue has high energy requirements and therefore, the more lean muscle you have, the more calories or fat you will burn at rest,” explains Damo. “Therefore, eating and moving to build and maintain lean muscle is the most efficient way to burn fat.”

This includes incorporating strength training into your regular workouts, as well as consuming enough protein to repair muscles after a tough session.
